You can display an attractive call to action in the header bar. This is normally set as link to the RSS feed subscription.

To enable it, go to Theme Customization -> Call to action  and turn it on.

CALL TO ACTION SETTINGS

  • Button text (Required)
  • URL (Required)
  • CSS Class (helps for CSS customization)
  • Element ID (ID to connect any external javascript if required)
  • Icon

To save the changes, click Publish.

This is the RSS feed of your podcast.
It is the most important tool to grow your audience, and the weapon of choice for any fan that wants to follow you. It is a standard formatting for contents, that is automatically udpated every time you publish something.

This link is what the podcast followers use to receive a notification when the new episodes are out.

There are free feed readers and premium feed readers, there are stand-alone apps for computer and mobile and there are browser integrations.

Some feed readers automatically take over the page when you open a feed link, like the one that this theme automatically links. People who uses those readers will automatically open the link of your subscription into your reader and receive your next podcasts’ notifications there (which is what you need!). Some other readers, instead, will require to manually copy and paste the URL of the RSS Feed in the settings of the reader.

WordPress generates the feeds automatically, but you can tweak the content with specific plugins like PowerPress (documented in our manual section 17).

The best ones (also free) contains also a music player. It will automatically display the player for your podcast, reading the mp3 track from your RSS feed.

That said, please remember that avid podcast consumer are hooked into the feeds as it is the equivalent of the newspaper boy throwing the gazette on your front yard in the morning, is your best friend to grow the audience and create a returning crowd of listeners, and this is why we put so much accent on this with our theme.

But remember you are free to edit the call to action in the header and point to anything else, by using the Customizer options of WordPress.
