Elementor is Free, you don’t need to purchase a Pro version. If you want to use WPBakery, just switch option and save.

Installation

• If you are installing Kentha for the first time, Elementor is already the default editor.
• If you are updating  from a previous version of Kentha that uses WPBakery, your default composer will still be WPBakery, and you won’t be asked to install Elementor, unless you switch editor manually.

How to choose your editor:

1. Click on the Kentha admin page
2. Set your preferred editor, then click Save
3. Click “Go to Kentha Plugins” and install any required plugin.

Once Elementor and the Kentha Elementor plugin are installed, you will find the Elementor demos available at the demos page.

1. Click Pages > add new and set a title
   
2. Select the page template “Page Visual Composer”
   
3. Click Save Draft or Publish
4. Click Edit with Elementor
   

This theme adds a lot of custom widgets to the Elementor Builder. All of the widgets previously available in WPBakery have been added to Elementor.

A page that was previously built with WPBakery cannot be translated into a “Elementor page” (there is no conversion software for this). If your home page was built in WPBakery and you want to switch editor, you will need to manually rebuild it.

Navigator options

To better use Elementor on the Kentha theme, is recommended to make use of the Navigator panel:

1. Right click in a Elementor content
2. Click “Navigator”
3. Optionally drag it to the edge so it will become a fixed column
4. Once available, you can right click on a section, to highlight its settings, modify backgrounds and margins.
   
5. Click Edit Section to access the section settings

3. Click the Chain icon to unlink the top, bottom, left and right sizes and set custom parameters
4. Add the padding. We suggest for desktop, 120px top and bottom.
   
5. Optionally, click the small device responsive icon to set different parameters for mobile (this can be done after your page is done)
   

Section slideshow backgrounds

In some Kentha demo pages, background sliders are built completely in Elementor.

To edit or create a background slideshow:

1. Right click a section and click Edit section
2. Click Style
3. Select the Slideshow background type

Custom Elementor widgets

This theme adds 30 custom Elementor widgets to the editor.

The available widgets are depending on the active plugins.

• Radio station widgets require the KenthaRadio plugin.
• WooCommerce widgets are available only with WooCommerce installed.
• Contact Form 7 widget is available only with the plugin Contact Form 7 installed.

Each widget is explained in a specific page of the manual.

Optimal server configurations:

If you see an error “Are you sure you want to do this”

or other memory or upload limit errors during the upload, please use one of these solutions (any server is different so one of these methods may work better than the others depending on the server settings)

then upload it in the WordPress root folder

If you are still experiencing any issue, please contact your hosting provider and request an update of your PHP to  version 7.4. This will most probably solve all your limitations issue because latest php version has a much better performance and allows to bypass all the hardware limitations.

If you see an error “Stylesheet is missing”

You are trying to upload the full product folder, which is not the theme but a package containing also the manual and other contents. Please follow the theme installation section to proceed.

First of all, please be sure your server meets the system requirements and that your WordPress installation is correctly performed. We made a plugin to check your server status, and highlight any missing requirements. Please find it on the Server Check plugin page.

You can install your new theme in the following ways:

1. From the admin dashboard, using the WordPress theme installer (easiest method).
2. Manually via FTP

Please make sure that you start from a fresh WordPress installation, without any plugin(s). 

Automatic theme installation

1. Login to your website in /wp-admin
2. Go to Appearance > Themes
3. Click Install Themes and then Upload
4. Click on the “Browse” button and select the zipped folder of the theme from your computer.
   
5. Upload the theme called kentha.zip but DO NOT ACTIVATE IT
6. Once done click on “Return to themes”
7. Click “add new” and upload the theme kentha-child.zip
8. Activate kentha-child.zip
9. Install the required plugins (please read next manual chapter)

Troubleshooting:

Error: The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet
If you see this error, it means that you are trying to upload the entire product package instead of the correct theme zip file. Please unzip the product folder in your computer and upload only the theme zip file and the child theme’s zip file.

Error: Are you sure you want to do this?
Please check system requirements.

Manual theme installation (FTP installation)

1. Download the zipped theme folder and extract it on your local PC.
2. Locate the correct theme folder inside of the unzipped folder, it will contain kentha-child.zip and kentha.zip
3. Make sure you unzip the correct theme folders (kentha.zip andkentha-child.zip). This will produce 2 folders: kentha and kentha-child
4. Connect to your hosting provider using an FTP client (e.g. Filezilla is one of the best free FTP clients, you can get it here)
5. Navigate to your WordPress installation folder (usually is not the root folder but it should be public_html, www or something else, depending on your hosting provider settings).To be sure that you are in the WordPress folder, you should see the following three folders inside:
   – wp-content
   – wp-admin
   – wp-includes
6. Navigate to wp-content/themes
7. Upload the two previously unzipped theme folders (kentha and kentha-child, see step 2. above) in wp-content/themes folder.
8. On your browser navigate to the admin dashboard of your wordpress site (usually yoursite.com/wp-admin)
9. Go to Appearance-> themes and activate: Kentha Child
10. Install the required plugins (next manual chapter)

If you encounter any activation problem please check the system requirements, your WordPress version and disable any plugin you may have in your website.

WHAT IS A CHILD THEME AND WHY YOU SHOULD USE IT:

This theme provides a child theme, making it easier to update your site with new theme versions without losing any customizations or settings. The following instructions will teach you how to correctly install and activate the theme using the child theme, which will make your life much easier down the line:

Select all of the plugins, choose Install and click Apply.
If installing the WPBakery composer version, we recommend installing separately the plugins WPBakery and Revolution Slider because they are particularly heavy and perform a redirect after the activation.

Page editor options

Since Kentha 3.0 Kentha supports both Elementor and WPBakery.

In Appearance > Kentha Activation, you can switch the preferred editor.

By default, Elementor will be offered to any new installation. If you are already using WPBakery, you don’t need to do anything, it will be recognized by default and an update will be offered while available.

If you are using WPBakery and want to switch to Elementor:

• Switch the option to Elementor
• Save
• Install the required plugins

A page created with a page editor will not work correctly with another.

You don’t need to buy Elementor PRO nor WPBakery licenses. We provide the updates with the theme. Elementor Pro is not included (Kentha adds a new plugin called Kentha Elementor adding 30 custom widgets for your website). You can hide and disable any notification asking to buy separate licenses for the editors.

Errors and troubleshooting

I see a message “Congratulations..” but the code is not saved and I can’t install the plugins

This error happens when you used already the purchase code on another domain. Please note that the license covers the installation on one domain. If it was a test installation, and you want to move to the production website, please contact us via helpdesk providing old and new URL, so we can reset your code.

Activation errors

If you can’t complete the activation, it means the CURL module is not active on your server, or you are being blocked by your server firewall.

Step 1: Check your server
Step 2: Make sure your hosting respects the requirements (including PHP version and all of the required modules)
Step 3: Eventually contact your hosting provider if you need help with the settings

Once you are sure your server is compliant, but you still have some problem, please contact us via helpdesk.

“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” CAUSE 1

If you see this error, it means you already actived any required plugin. Please go back to your admin dashboard.

“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.” CAUSE 2

If you are sure you are missing some plugin, or can’t update the list, it means your license is already linked to another domain. Please contact our support for more information and to ask a license reset, making sure to include your current website URL.

Can’t update WPBakery

Can’t install Elementor PRO

Elementor PRO is not required, nor is part of the product.

Error “A higher version of […] plugin is required”

This error happens when an installation is interrupted. Via FTP, remove the folder of the plugin causing the trouble (in wp-content/plugins) and try again.

Demo import requirements:

1. Be sure that all of the required plugins are installed
2. Be sure that that you activated the Child theme (as explained in the installation page)
3. If prompted, be sure to activate the purchase code of your theme
4. In case of incomplete import or errors, please check if your server meets the WP requirements

Please remember that all of the contents will be imported under your current user. If the demo displays multiple users, they will all be ignored to avoid security breaches on your website.

How to install the demo contents

With the One Click Demo Import procedure you can import both the default demo and the WooCommerce demo.

On the following modal, click Yes, import! and your contents will be imported in seconds. If you experience  any issue, please be sure you server meets the minimum requirements.

Setting the correct demo homepage

After importing the demo package, you can choose the home page demo in Settings > Reading, where you can select another home page to fit your required design.

Notes:

1. Existing contents will not be deleted
2. If you don’t install the demo while using the child theme, some settings and configurations may not be installed properly, as they are related to the name of the active theme.
3. Do not install the demo data twice, or you will have a lot of duplicated contents.

Troubleshooting

• If the demo contents are imported partially or not imported at all, it means your server requirements are not met. Please use our server check plugin.
• If the requirements are met (eg. execution time) but you have problems of partial importing, it means that your server is too slow, and you have probably a very cheap hosting plan. There are known issues with small plans of providers as Bluehost which are very limited on the basic plans.
  Our server check plugin can five you a real time benchmark about your server performance.
• If you see error messages, it means some plugin not provided with the theme is conflicting with the import (as the stock WordPress Importer plugin which is supposed to NOT be installed).

Errors 5XX (504, 500, 502…)

If you see any error starting with 5, it’s caused generally by poor server settings. Please check this page [https://github.com/awesomemotive/one-click-demo-import/blob/master/docs/import-problems.md] and contact your hosting provider.

Errors 6XX (602, 604…)

Those errors are caused by a security restriction in your ModSec settings. It means your server sees the connection to qantumthemes.xyz as a threat. That’s a false positive and your hosting provider can whitelist our server (*.qantumthemes.xyz).

Contact Form 7 Design

After importing the demo contents, you will notice that the contact form appears different.

This is caused by the Contact Form 7 activation process (which we don’t want to override for security reasons). In fact, upon activation, this plugin creates a default form without formatting.

To use the demo form, edit the page, and select the correct form from the dropdown menu.

Before updating, we recommend taking a backup, as standard procedure. You can also backup your site using the free plugin Duplicator or Softaculous

1. Go to https://themeforest.net/downloads and click Downloads, then click “installable WordPress file only“.The name of the zip file can vary. 

   

2. In your WordPress admin click Themes > Add New > Upload

    

3. Select the zip you just downloaded, and click Install Now. WordPress will see that is an update.
4. Click Replace current with uploaded
5. Once done, please update the plugins

Automatic theme update:

1. Be sure to have the Envato Market plugin installed
2. Click on Envato Market on the left column and follow the instructions for obtaining your API key
3. Once you add the API key in the settings page, you can update your theme from the main Envato Market page

Automatic plugins update:

Please check the Plugins Update documentation. If you are updating from versions 3.4 and below, please check also the Plugins Installation chapter.

Child theme update:

The child theme doesn’t need to be updated. More info

You can optionally edit the style.css of the child theme and change the version, upgrading the number. This will help any caching layer to refresh the files and load the updated version of theme and plugins.

Automatic theme update:

1. Make a website backup. We suggest All In One Migration plugin, or you can do a manual backup.
2. Download your .po and .mo translation files from the /languages theme subfolder, if any is used
3. Be sure to have the Envato Market plugin installed
4. Create your API key
5. Click on Envato Market on the left column
6. Once you add the API key in the settings page, you can update your theme from the main Envato Market page
7. If you are using the CHILD theme, DO NOT activate Kentha after the update, as it will switch to the parent theme activation.
8. Be sure to update all the required plugins (go in Theme Dashboard > Plugins)

Manual Update (FTP):

You can download new updates from Themeforest.net/downloads for as long as the product is maintained

A full file and database backup is recommended before updating.
No pages or site contents are deleted when updating themes or plugins.
If you used the child theme, just replace the main theme file and leave the child theme intact.

1. Unzip the theme folder on your local computer (for example on the desktop)
2. Backup your old theme version located in wp-content/themes/kentha
3. Upload the theme via FTP replacing the old theme folder in wp-content/themes
4. Update the plugins

Important:

Each update version contains the list of changes in kentha/readme.txt. Before updating always check what’s new, as some big updates may require additional actions.

WPBakery Page Builder update

The theme may provide bundled plugins such as Visual Composer or others. Due to Envato’s licensing rules, we provide the plugins as a built-in feature provided under a Bundle extended license, which forbids us to provide License Certificate and Purchase Code to our customers.

We can provide plugin’s updates only when we provide a new version of the theme. This because we need to test the new plugin versions with the theme and be sure that everything works well together before distributing theme.

It will be our duty to provide fast updates in case security issues or severe WordPress incompatibilities appears.

If you see any message asking to provide a purchase code of the bundled plugins, you can discard it or purchase a Personal License on Codecanyon.net, but we can’t ensure that updated versions will work smoothly with our theme as the ones we distributed, as it can be untested. The version we provide is tested and working fine with the theme. You don’t need to buy a personal license.  Is an optional thing.

Please remembert that this theme requires at least PHP 7 to run optimally.

If CURL is disabled or your server can’t connect to the repository, you won’t be able to enjoy plugins updates and demo import. Please contact our helpdesk for alternative solutions.

If your server performance test ends with a result above 5 seconds, please make sure your PHP version is at least PHP7.1.

If your PHP version is already 7.1 or above, it means that your hosting performance is not enought to run a professional music website, and you should consider upgrading your hosting package or change your hosting provider.

This theme is customizable using the standard WordPress theme customizer function.

You can access to the customizer visiting Appearance->Customize.

Here you can find all the list of available style customizations. For options not contained in the list, you may need to hire a developer.

The support service can’t provide CSS, PHP, JS or HTML code customization, as this service doesn’t belong to theme support service (such as when you buy a car, changing the default soundsystem is not part of the car assistance service).

1. Hide past events: if enabled, will globally hide from the archives every event with an expired event date
2. Load more: instead of numeric pagination, display a load more for the archives
3. Breadcrumb: display the actual page navigation path below the top menu (desktop only, hidden in home)
4. Enable debug settings: for a massive performance improvement, this theme loads by default a single minified js file containing multiple libraries. If you experience any conflict with other plugins, or you need to customize the theme Javascript files, you can enable this option, and the javascript files will be loaded as separate unminified resources. This option can significantly increase the page loading time.

Menu colors and other functions are configured in other customizer sections.

• Default page background: used as default background for every page where there is no custom background specified. The background image stays below the video and is used as background when no video is provided and in mobile devices.
• Default YouTube background: you can specify the ID of a youtube video to use in every page as background. It can be customized for singular pages, overriding this global setting. Please don’t add the full url, just the video ID.Example: to use this video

  copy the video ID:  XYZ123
• Fade out background on scroll: if enabled, the background will fade out to the background color for a cleaner reading, while scrolling. This option can be changed for every single page, post or any special post type.
• Darken page background: if your backgorund pictures or videos are too light and the readability is poor, you can fix this function from 0 to 90% of opacity.
  This parameter is the opacity of a black layer that is on top of your background picture or video.

It’s strongly recommended to use video backgrounds on a per-page basis, avoiding the global video setting, for a smoother navigation experience.

FAQ:

• Best background image resolution?
  1600x900px, max 250Kb file size. Optimized for visual and performance. Will be cropped vertically in mobile.
• Background texts are cropped?
  You are NOT supposed to add any text to the backgorund iamges, those are backgrounds, not contents, they have a decorative purpose, and they are cropped in responsive mode.
• Video background optimization:
  Videos are forcefully loaded in 720p resolution, this optimizes performance and quality. A higher video quality, as highlighted from our extensive testing, consumes all the GPU of the computer, making the overall website rendering buggy and decreasing the framerate. So, we forced a 720p as max resolution.
  For lower bandwidth connections YouTube will automatically provide a lower quality video.
• I see the video in bad quality:
  this is caused by a slow connection. We force the quality to 720, if you see it pixelated, YouTube is sending you a smaller video because otherwise you couldn’t see it at all. This is NOT a theme bug, nor something we can fix for you. Just try from a decent connection.
• I don’t see the video, appears blocked:
  not every video can be used, some have copyright or territory restrictions. You should use your own videos form your own YouTube channel.
• Can I use Vimeo/MP4?
  No, this is not possible, at all, and please don’t ask. This theme aims at one of the most important features of this decade: performance. The more extensive compatibility we add, the heavier the theme will be. Assing Vimeo, mp4 or other sources, even if possible, would increase the loading time of the page of several seconds. So, only Youtube is allowes as video backgorunds. You can still add any vimeo video in the page contents.
• I don’t see the video on iPad, iPhone, or mobile in general:
  NO, video backgorund is totally blocked on any mobile, and we did in on purpose, to guarantee the quality of your website.
  Even thou it may technically work on very few devices, people would be SUPER annoyed if every time they enter your site from mobile it sucks all their data to display a background, plus is blocked by default on 90% of the modern devices. Ergo, upload a picture as fallback for mobile. We recommend uploading a screenshot of the video, even for a smoother video intro effect, as we do in our demo 1.

The contents of the second layer are also capable of including shortcodes, which makes it the perfect place for every contact form or extra function you may want to add to your website.

Options:

• Enable second layer: will add the button to the menu bar and make available the bottom layer sidebar in the Widgets area
• Negative colors: will force white texts, even if you use a light skin in your colors (see following chapter about colors) enabling this option will allow you to make all texts white in the second layer, to add readability in case of background pictures or dark backgrounds.
• Bottom layer backtround: add a picture as background for the second layer.
• Second layer content: add any content, including shortcodes.
• Second layer widgets: visit appearance > Widgets to add widgets to the second layer sidebar.

Second layer OffCanvas Menu

To create a 2nd layer OffCanvas menu, go in Appearance > Menu, create a new menu, and add it to the Off Canvas location. It doesn’t require to activate the second layer in customizer.

This means that a same color is applied to multiple elements, and sometimes is not possible to assign a specific color to a specific elements without changing other parts of the site.
This is called a color pattern, and this is the standard way Material Design works, to maintain a harmony between the elements and provide a consistent color pattern.

You can calculate cool color palettes on websites like:

Important notes on how to choose your colors:

1. You should choose contrast colors as Primary, Accent, Background and text, to make the different areas of the page recognizable.
2. You can’t choose as Accent and Secondary the same color as otherwise your background buttons and links will disappear
3. Prefere dark colors as Primary colors
4. Choose similar colors as primary light and dark
5. Choose similar colors as page background and paper background
6. Choose a high contrast colors as text background compared to page and primary
7. You can’t have a “chess” design (black background and white paper or opposite) as text may fall on background or on paper. The Page Background and the Paper background have to be similar.
   For a light scheme you can choose grey as page background, white for paper and black for text.
8. Accent and secondary: those colors are for interactions. Do NOT choose black or white as accent or secondary as they won’t be visible!! You should choose bright colors as your accent and secondary for a good usability.

You can set 5 font families and variants for:

• Baisc font [Family, Variant, Subset, Font size]
• Bold font [used for the STRONG tag]
• Headings  [Family, Variant, Letter Spacing, Text Transform]
• Menu, buttons and metas (sets also buttons, metas and widget headers) [Family, Variant, Letter Spacing, Font Size, Text Transform]
• Logo (if you use a picture logo, is suggested to set the same font as your normal text, to avoid useless font downloads)

They will be added both to header and booter at the same time.

For each website add the URL of your own page. In the example we use a generic website URL. Please remember to include the http:// in the url.

• a bottom copyright row that is fixed and can’t be removed, it contains the copyright text, a custom menu and the social networks.
• a widgetized footer, where you can add unlimited widgets in Appearance < Widgets. Widgets will be disposed using Masonry for an optimal space organization.

Settings:

• Footer text: plain text and only links are allowed
• Show footer widgets: show/hide the widgets bar
• Background image: optional for widgets
• Parallax: optional parallax effect for footer widgets
