{"id":6077,"date":"2016-06-13T17:20:50","date_gmt":"2016-06-13T17:20:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/manuals.qantumthemes.xyz\/onair2\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=6077"},"modified":"2022-03-31T07:54:39","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T07:54:39","slug":"3-2-schedule","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/manuals.qantumthemes.xyz\/onair2\/knowledge-base\/3-2-schedule\/","title":{"rendered":"3.2 Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Schedules are lists of shows (or events) with a timing connotation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"how-to-create-a-new-schedule\" ><strong>How to create a new schedule:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In your WordPress Admin, go to\u00a0<strong>Schedule<\/strong>\u00a0&gt; Add New<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fill in the title. I<\/strong>t can be whatever, it is not used dinamically to extract the day value. It is just text.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally pick a\u00a0<strong>single calendar date<\/strong>. This is useful in case you have a different timetable for every day of the month and you want to prepare in advance a\u00a0schedule for each\u00a0day.<\/li>\n<li>Optionally pick a\u00a0<strong>day<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<strong>week<\/strong>, useful for recursive schedules that are\u00a0the same every week.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Please note: without picking a single day or a week day, the automatic widgets like &#8220;show on air&#8221; or upcoming shows&#8221; will never be able to pick the actual day and find which show is going on.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>order<\/strong>\u00a0of the schedules is based on the<strong>\u00a0\u201cpage order\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0attribute, on the\u00a0<strong>right<\/strong>\u00a0of the page editor.<a href=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/order.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-581\" src=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/order.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"314\" height=\"155\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>If you don\u2019t see the page order attribute, open the \u201cScreen Options\u201d menu at the top right hand corner of the page, and enable\u00a0<strong>\u201cPage Attributes\u201d. You have to set it as<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Sunday:\u00a0<strong>order 0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Monday:\u00a0<strong>order 1<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Tuesday:\u00a0<strong>order 2<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Wednesday:\u00a0<strong>order 3<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>And so on\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to set as day 0 the same you set as first day of the week in your general WordPress settings (you can see it in Settings &gt; General)In this example,\u00a0<strong>Monday<\/strong>\u00a0is set as the first day of the week, so your first schedule day with order attribute\u00a0<strong>0<\/strong>\u00a0should be\u00a0<strong>Monday<\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/settings-general-monday.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-582\" src=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/settings-general-monday.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"272\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Add the shows<\/strong>: by clicking the green \u201cplus\u201d button you can add new shows. You can add unlimited shows for each schedule. Every show can start and stop at whatever hour you like.<\/li>\n<li>The time of the shows has to be subsequential: if the first show is from 00:00 till 01:20, the second has to start at 01:20, without empty gaps. <strong>The shows should cover the entire 24 hours of a day.<\/strong>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/schedule-setup.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-573\" src=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/schedule-setup.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"959\" height=\"1050\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Make sure the time settings of the shows are not overlapping<\/strong>: for example, you should not have the end time of a show set to a later time than the beginning of another show<\/li>\n<li>Remember to\u00a0<strong>SAVE<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Example of a correct schedule setup<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/schedule-full-page.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-583\" src=\"https:\/\/pro.radio\/shop\/manual\/schedule-full-page.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"1200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"important-things-to-know\" >Important things to know:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>A schedule is basically a list of events (shows)<\/li>\n<li>A schedule can represent independently a day, a part of a day a recursive day of the week, or a specific date<\/li>\n<li>A single schedule can be used to gather a series of events of non consecutive days, for example in the case that your radio station has the same shows on Monday and Wednesday. The software will recognize that the show on air and is able to parse a schedule that has been connected to multiple days (or a whole week)<\/li>\n<li>If there is a schedule connected with a day of the week and another schedule connected with a specific day (like 25 December 2015 which is Thursday) the specific schedule will be chosen by the software to display the show which is \u201con air\u201d instead of the schedule of the recursive day of the week, which has lower priority.<\/li>\n<li>If you need to duplicate a schedule, you can use a plugin such as \u201cClone Post\u201d from the free repository of WordPress. All the shows will be copied with it, and it is easier to create a\u00a0whole calendar for your station.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"displaying-the-schedules\" >Displaying the schedules:<\/h2>\n<p>Generally, you may want to create a weekly schedule grid (explanation further on) but if you need to link to a specific schedule, for example from the main menu, you can enable the schedule contents in Appearance -&gt; Editor.<\/p>\n<p>Just click on the &#8220;Screen Options&#8221; in the top right corner of the screen and check &#8220;Schedule&#8221; or &#8220;Show&#8221;
